Islamic movements called for revival of the
Caliphate System in the twentieth century, and gradually their political discourse
developed into acceptance of the idea of the establishment of a modern Islamic
State through the system of a Modern State. This development characterized the
discourse of the majority of the Islamic movements, mainly the movement of the
Islamic Brothers, who started to believe in the possibility of the application of the
Islamic Law in the Modern State.
Adoption of the system of the Modern State by the Islamic movements caused an
intense debate between the supporters and opponents of this system and their
disagreements centered on the difference between the values and principles on
which each system is established: the Islamic System and the Modern System.
This difference made the supporters of the Modern State work on bringing together
the principles of modernity and the Islamic principles and thoughts.
2023-12-10T00:00:00+00:00 Copyright (c) 2024 Al-Qasemi Journal of Islamic Studies https://ojs.qsm.ac.il/index.php/ISJournal/article/view/869 Changing Islamic Identities and the Effects of Geography1 2024-02-26T06:43:56+00:00 İbrahim Yilmaz nomail@qsm.ac.il
Islamic identity is often overlooked, but it definitely exists and is shaped by
geography. It's fascinating to see how this identity takes on different forms based
on where it is practiced. There are commonalities and differences between the
Islamic identities of global citizens and those of local communities. It's important
to recognize that no one is superior or inferior based on their identity; the
variations lie in knowledge, culture, and skills. Geographical conditions play a
significant role in differentiating people. Nowadays, a new and progressive
Islamic identity is emerging, with Muslims embracing values like anti-bigotry
and striving for positive change. They are working to transform their
surroundings, promoting knowledge, morality, work, equality, and justice. In our
study, we will dive into how geography influences the evolution of Islamic
identities
2023-12-10T00:00:00+00:00 Copyright (c) 2024 Al-Qasemi Journal of Islamic Studies https://ojs.qsm.ac.il/index.php/ISJournal/article/view/870 The Place: between geographical and ideological descriptions: The Old City basin in Jerusalem as an example 2024-02-26T06:48:03+00:00 Rassem Mohy-elden Khamaisi nomail@qsm.ac.il
The conflict over the Old City and its Visual Basin is at the heart of the conflict
between Palestinian Arabs and Israeli Jews. This conflict stems from the
formulation of the narrative of the sacred, the weaving of the term and the
production and possession of the place. This article discusses how the term
"sacred\holy" basin is named for the visual basin area that surrounds the Old City.
The granting of the status and name of sanctification to the area around the Old
City is the result of ideological motives in order to control the geopolitical space.
The article claims that the State of Israel (Jewish and Zionist institutions) apply a
matrix of control to achieve demographic, spatial and territorial goals, strategies
and policies, land ownership and spatial planning to secure Israeli control over the
perimeter of the Old City of Jerusalem and change its landscape. This brief paper
aims to monitor how to transform the definition of place from a geographical
concept to a religious ideology, by presenting and discussing the state of the
ongoing struggle for control of the Old City and the surrounding visual basin as
part of the application of the penetration strategy and the extension of the Israeli
matrix of control to change its demographic, geographical and heritage reality. Thepaper relies in the presentation and analysis on the descriptive and comparative
critical approach, relying on previous research conducted and plans prepared for
the study area.
The study concludes that the production of the term defining the place from
geographical to ideological, translated into a novel that seeks to engineer
consciousness and establish the ethics of using the matrix of control to achieve the
project of the dominant state. Therefore, it is necessary to produce and adopt semineutral terminology that translates a narrative, a vision that forms the basis for the
formulation of the urban city space, to open horizons for the development of the
city and to reach geopolitical settlements that reduce the level of conflict over the
city and clash within it
2023-12-10T00:00:00+00:00 Copyright (c) 2024 Al-Qasemi Journal of Islamic Studies https://ojs.qsm.ac.il/index.php/ISJournal/article/view/871 The sanctity of graves and exhume it between the inviolability hammer and the anvil of politics 2024-02-26T07:05:06+00:00 Mohammed Mosa Eleawa nomail@qsm.ac.il
The study aimed to highlight the sanctity of graves and exhume it between the
inviolability hammer and the anvil of politics on the one hand or scholars and
specialists on the other about the inviolability and violation of graves, When
necessary and in the public interest, this inviolability or violation often coincides
with politics, The study showed that there were numerous claims of Israeli practices
against Palestinian graves and their ongoing violation Some parties and entities are
making several claims in this regard, This study made these claims clear, as some
of them are correct. and these claims are based on accusations of Israel's demolition
and bulldozing of the graves and desecration of the inviolability of the dead, The
majority of these claims came from Islamists and other hardcore scholars.
The study used the descriptive and analytical approach to clarify the topic of
the exhumation of the grave before and after Islam, thus analysing that information
and reviewing the views that have been expressed in the inviolability of the grave
or changing these views according to contemporary status. Comparative
approaches have also been used to compare the opinions of scholars on the topic
of exhumation and sanctity of graves, especially in modern times and the
differences between these ages on this topic, and the extent to which political
parties influence these views.
The study concluded that in all four doctrines, scholars agreed to prohibit the
exhumation of graves, or even the opening of the graves of the dead and to detect them, whether it be shortly after their burial or after a long period, without cause,
interest or urgency. Many researchers also allege Israel's exhumation and contempt
of graves without examination or scrutiny of those claims.
2023-12-10T00:00:00+00:00 Copyright (c) 2024 Al-Qasemi Journal of Islamic Studies https://ojs.qsm.ac.il/index.php/ISJournal/article/view/872 The Sanctity of the Land of Palestine as an Islamic Endowment with Contemporary Dimensions 2024-02-26T07:09:57+00:00 Soma Fawzi Abdul-Hadi nomail@qsm.ac.il
The study aimed to highlight the sanctity of the land of Palestine as an Islamic
endowment with contemporary dimensions, especially in light of the conflicting
opinions of the jurists on the one hand، or researchers and specialists on the other
hand، about the sanctity of the land of Palestine and its consideration as a pure
endowment land. The study highlighted that there are many allegations about
Israeli practices against Islamic endowments in Palestine through the demolition
and confiscation operations that it exercises against these endowments، where
some parties and entities make several allegations in this regard.
The study answered the question: Is all the land of Palestine considered an
endowment? This is what this study concluded، contrary to those who say that the
land of Palestine is not all endowment, which this study refuted. The study used
the historical method to clarify and track the claims in the endowment of Palestine
and its historical and religious status throughout the ages. It also used the inductive
and analytical method to extrapolate the multiple jurisprudential texts related to
the subject of Islamic endowment، especially Palestine as an Islamic endowment.
2023-12-10T00:00:00+00:00 Copyright (c) 2024 Al-Qasemi Journal of Islamic Studies
