Abstract
The following article sheds the light on both theoretical and empirical methodology of two pioneer personas of the 10th century in optics: the first is Abi Sa’id al-Alaa b. Sahil (940-1000) who pioneered in adding lenses as a burning instrument that concentrates parallel passing ray in a burning epicenter introducing the law of refraction. The other persona is Al-Hasan b. al-Haytham (965-1040), who believed that knowledge stems from our senses, followed by contemplations, which introduces his optics project. This project changed our perception of sight. His scientific project is an indication of the development of the new pioneering approach and the pioneering role of experimentation in his scientific approach
