The Structural Tension in Abdel Nasser Saleh's Poem "Ommi"

Abstract
The poem discloses the poet's inner self movement, its requirements, and demands, including his concerns, agonies and reminiscences. Constituting part of the poet’s true self, the poem, with its surface and deep structures, formations, and constructions, foretells his true intentions. This research seeks to study the structural tension in Abdel Nasser Saleh’s poem "Ommi" by analyzing its structure, starting by the semiotics of the title, passing to the beginning, and reaching the end. To analyze the poem's deep and surface structures, the analytical descriptive approach was employed in order to delve into the depths of the text and explore its secrets and components. The research further seeks to answer the questions about the structural tension of the poem: the way it shifted from the focal point, the mother; then extended to represent her by using antithetic duality (you and I), (life and death), and (presence and absence), and finally escalated its pace to reach trinality between each of these antithetic dualities, which, in fact, seems to be an attempt to compensate the absence of the mother after her death.
