Abstract

This research comes to study the hollow Yaa’ verb in a comprehensive phonememorphological framework of its construction. Moreover, it seeks to determine the
rules of the verb’s structural component, and to pursue its phonetic developments,
all of which have affected the construction of its morphological units through
phonetic writing that pays heed to the causes and their phonetic similarities and
bypasses the written form that has imposed itself on old-guard researchers, and on
their analysis of eloquence and substitution. The intention is to restore the phonetic
balance to the rules of verb conjugation, and the application of the kinetic pairs’
theories and vocal syllables in explaining the transformations that have followed
some performances of the hollow Yaa’. Such transformation travels from the long
‘kasra’ to the long ‘fatha’, to the sound of the ‘hamz’, or to the long ‘damma’, or
by replacing the Yaa’, breaking it with a silent sound, and monitoring the structural
components that have preserved the Yaa’ root in its various inflectional forms, and
the use of its multiple hollow patterns.
