Abstract

This Study tackles the impact of Ramadan on the 6th and 7th Century poetry”, poetry written on Ramadan in this period.

The study comprises of an introduction, and eight other aspects: in the first part, it tackled issues such as: Ramadan reception in joy and happiness, Ramadan as a repentance opportunity, patience with Ramadan hardships, special events in Ramadan, mentioning of Ramadan desserts, the rhymes chosen by msahartis, hurrying its end and celebrating and congratulating people on Eid Alfiter. In the second part, it approaches poetry from two aspects: style and language and metaphors.

The study utilizes different research approaches. First, the historic approach is used to trace all poetry written on Ramadan including the periods of poets and the descriptive and analytical approach used to demonstrate the nature of the poetry content.

The study revealed the use of simple language, vocabulary and structures, and that all metaphors used spring from Ramadan environment
