Abstract

The major themes of Abū- Salmā`s poetry are committed to the Palestinian question. Their main function was directed against the persecution which his people suffered. At the first period of his writings he used communist expressions, because he was an activist in the Marxist party, but afterwards- when he was a refugee in Damascus-he went on using in his poetry the expressions of struggle that lead to the Palestinian situation without direct relation to the Marxism.

This paper deals with the transformation, change, causes and the circumstances alike.

On the other hand, I depicted his prose and poetic writings and found that he mixed the image of his nation and the image of his beloved girl.
He wrote, “I wrote my true poetry to defend my land, and it is a part of my bloody history.” So he was truly committed to his stand, his question, his land, revolution and people
