Abstract
The present study aims at illuminating two major ideas in the broad field of intellectual interplay between ShīÝism and other religions. The first concerns the notion, made already in early Twelver ShīÝism, that all prophets and their deeds are but primordial models for the ShīÝa itself. The second is that the person and actions of Noah specifically, like those of other prophets, are taken to testify to the antiquity of ShīÝism and the ShīÝite creed. The following sections constitute an attempt to elaborate these two central ideas
