Abstract

Almost all the tools around us and equipment that we use every day have become digital.   In addition, most of the information that we get or produce, transmit or receive, has also become digital, regardless of its type or form. There are primary reasons for this interesting phenomenon.

This article discusses the primary reasons for this change, and explores the power of the binary coding system.  It also outlines some strategies and techniques that are used in converting and representing information in binary coding in order for it to be digitized and stored in digital equipment such as computers.
