Abstract

The article handles mainly the major principles of the curriculum in light of Harrari committee recommendation. In the second part of the article, we can notice the findings of the national exam which was published in 1998.

Teaching technology and science in the elementary school:

Studying Science and Technology has recently become a compulsory and vital need for every citizen for his general education.

The above curriculum is based on interdisciplinary approach which integrates many subjects (Chemistry, physics, biology, technology) in the social, community context.

The knowledge of technology is truly considered as basic education for everyone. The curriculum defines the needs, states the principles and suggests solution of problems for improving the life quality.

The following principles should be taken into account when teaching technology and science:

  • Knowledge of basic concepts and understanding them.
  • Getting acquainted with phenomena , principles, processes and problems solving in science and technology.
