أسلوب الاستفهام البلاغيّ في المقال السّياسيّ المترجم: دراسة تحليليّة في ضوء نظريّة تحليل الخطاب النّقديّ (CDA)

Abstract

This paper presents an analytic literary-critical study of political articles translated from Hebrew into Arabic by using Critical Discourse Analysis (CDA) based, in particular, on rhetorical structures and rhetorical questions that appear inside these articles.

The study begins with a theoretical survey of Critical Discourse Analysis and a survey of the methodology used for analysing the one-hundred selected articles that appear in the paper journal Al-Quds al-ʿArabī. The study then describes the use of questions in the translated articles and analyses these questions considering the ideologies that underlie them. It is important to note here that the translations themselves are neutral, and that this study did not make any changes to the ideas presented in the original articles.

The questions were found to express nine different meanings (denial, astonishment, threat and intimidation, derision, humiliation, pointing out the addressee's error, wish and arousing desire). The use of rhetorical questions in the way intended by the authors give rise to contrary ideas and ideological views that highlight the dominant mindset inside Israeli society
