Abstract
He is Abū al-Ḥasan Muḥammad ibn Jalāl al-Dīn Abī al-Baqqa Muḥammad ibn Jalāl al-Dīn ‘Abd al-Raḥmān al-Bakrī al-Ṣiddīqī, in relation to the great companion Abū Bakr al-Ṣiddīq, may God be pleased with him. One of the best coincidences is that he mentioned him in his letter that is investigated here, and he called him by saying: “Our grandfather, the successor of the Messenger of God, may peace be upon him”.
Al-Bakrī al-Ṣiddīqī is considered one of the greatest jurists, interpreters, and orators of his time. He is also one of the Sufi masters affiliated with al-Bakrī dynasty, which was related to the Bakrī caliphate and the council of honorable gentlemen in Egyptian lands for long centuries.
