Abstract

This article focuses on the problems posed by the multi-forms of the triliteral root (masdar), as a linguistic richness evoked by the various dialects or this multiplicity is a semantic feature specific to each morphological pattern. Because the topic is very big and complex, we’ll study only the part concerning the state masdar.

We will focus on the simple masdar of the triliteral verb, which has a common meaning but have a different structure, assuming that each masdar has a verb. We will support this assumption with a series of important theses: Yacobson (1980), Saghrochni (19987), Carlson (1977), Kleiber (1985) and Bustoeviski (1991, 1995). This paper is organized as follows: In the first section, we study the ancient and recently approaches of the multiplicity masdar.  In the second section, we present the meaning of the vowels in the Arabic language. In the third section, we study the meaning of the static and activities state. Finally, we highlight the semantic differences between a multiple masdar, which has a common meaning, and a different pattern
