Abstract

The researcher sheds light on four main points in his paper, which are the life of the Imam Ash-Shatibi, his scientific career, his syntactic writings and his adoption of the analysis approach in his book "Al-Maqasid Ash-Shafiya fi sharh Khulasat Al-Kafiya".

 The researcher focuses on the syntactic aspect of one of the prominent scholars in fiqh and reviews his famous writings. He then presents and discusses his book "Al-Maqasid Ash-Shafiya fi sharh Khulasat Al-Kafiya". This book is considered one of his famous writings about his valuable syntactic interpretations. The researcher relates to the main characteristics of the book that explains "Alfeyat Ibn-Malek". Imam Ash-Shatibi followed a consistent and a coherent approach that indicates his amazing intellectuality and his abroad knowledge. This approach is evident in his interest in the lexical and contextual meaning and his focus on the morphological and syntactical domains and in using different methods in his syntactic analysis.
