The Reality of Change Management among Department Heads in the Tulkarm Directorate of Education from the Perspective of the Staff

Abstract
The study aims to identify the reality of change management among department heads
in the Tulkarm Directorate of Education during the first semester of the academic year
(2014/2015) as well as the effect of the variables of gender, discipline, and qualification.
The researcher used a questionnaire as a research tool, which consisted of 38 items. The
study sample included 120 respondents. The study results show that the score of future
work vision was very high; creativity and innovation promotion was very high;
supporting organizational culture of change was moderate, whereas the total score was
very high. There were no statistically significant differences in terms of the variables of
gender, discipline, and qualification. The study recommends that there is a need to
promote change and a need to get support from policy makers to maintain change.
