Abstract
Islam has long been concerned with science so that the first verse in the holy Quraan is : “ Read in the name of your God Allah who created you”, and his saying ( the Almighty Allah) : “He had taught human beings things that they did not know” ( sura Al-alaq, verses: 1-5 ). The holy Quraan therefore highlights the importance of science as demonstrated in these verses, and shows the harmony between science and religion which conspire together to attain prosperity and progress in various fields. Islam has clearly vowed Moslems to develop sciences and carry out researches in different fields so that Moslems could guarantee their progress and prosperity.
