Abstract
The short story is considered an independent genre and represents a specific pattern that the modern authors singled out several defining characteristics such as the specificity of the event and time and other ingredients that are subsumed under the category of adaptation, where language becomes very limited from the point of view of word number; however, at the same time the language spreads its wings to wider worlds through meanings and connotations. On this basis, the short story by Zakaria Tamer represents to a great extent a phase in the stages of linguistic adaptation development.
