The Degree of Effectiveness of Training the Teachers of Social Studies and Science in Service Training of the Developed Curriculum in Jordan

Abstract

The study aims to reveal the degree of effectiveness of training the teachers of
social studies and science in service training of the developed curriculum; the
study used the descriptive analytical method. In order to achieve the study
purpose, both researchers prepared a questionnaire consisting of (22) paragraphs
divided into (4) aspects, whereas signs of validity and reliability were deduced
through the proper statistical methods. The study sample consisted of (64) female
and male teachers.
The study results have shown that the effectiveness of training was generally
high with an arithmetic mean of (3.50) and with a standard deviation of (0.16).
The degree of effectiveness was high in both aspects: the trainers' competency,
and the training philosophy and content. In the aspects concerning the training
environment, and the training assessment; however, the efficiency was moderate.
The study recommends paying special attention to the training environment,
developing it and to continuously assess the training programs.
