Abstract

In many organizations, including educational institutions, the owners of administrative
functions are required to make decisions every day, including a summary section of the
utmost importance to the work of the organization. For the purpose of this research, A
unique tool was developed, aiming to examine decision-making processes in the school
context compared with several models to make decisions: decision support systems and
metacognition. Decision support systems are computer systems designed to aid in decision-
making process, to reduce the subjective intuitive factors that affect decision makers in
organizations. Decision process of metacognition is a justified overarching strategy,
through which people choose the appropriate action, perform it and receive feedback.

The research findings indicate that, according to the hypothesis there is consistency in
the decisions resulting from the models of different decision, as there is no significant
differences in educational decisions resulting from the models of the resolution, which
depends on the types of various events: hours devoted to classes of students, hours
dedicated to the guidance of teachers and hours dedicated to the path generation.
Furthermore, it is found that key variables (education level and seniority at work) are
associated with the quality of decisions (decisions bilateral - involuntary and intuitive
decisions).
The results are discussed with reference to the decision-making process as a process of
knowledge that enable the decision makers to monitor his steps, reduce the range of
disruptions and bias in his decision making, and to develop high self-awareness of the
process and the type of decision that is supposed to be taken.
