Abstract

The subject of mathematical series generally meets with great interest among students, who perceive finding the pattern of a series a challenge to their intellect. At an early age, the student is satisfied with predicting the next term in a series, but with an advancement in age and when learning about series in high school, the student becomes interested in finding the general law with proof, and quickly realizes that merely predicting the outcome is unproductive. For example, in regard to Febunatchi’s series one can’t predict the general law, in mathematical books there are no explanations as to how to find this law, and discovering the method they arrived at seems impossible.

This article will present simple ways to “perhaps” find the general law of a series using the Regressive law, which resembles Febunatchi’s series.
