Abstract

This article aims at clarifying the concept of “Istislah” and “masaleh” from the perspective of Islamic Shari’a and Islamic Fiqh (knowledge). It also examines the attitudes of fundamentalists and Islamic scholars regarding the concept of “Istislah” in terms of scrutinizing the principles on which the Islamic culture is based. The article therefore accounts for long established Islamic values and their contribution and influence on current educational values which are primarily inspired by Islamic law and Shari’a. The article also manifests the role of the Islamic system and its uniqueness and excellence in encompassing all ways and methods that might guarantee both; an honorable life and a sublime education for all peoples across all cultures.
