Abstract
This article focuses on the polemic which is taking place among Arab critics and philosophers about the phenomenon of "modernism" and "modernity" in the Arab world regarding the steps (measures) (procedures) which should be taken in order to cope with the crises facing the Arab world.
The article aims at examining the following research questions: How do Arab thinkers and philosophers view the socio-political reality and their alternatives taking place in the Arab world, and what are the obstacles that impede the actualization of their desires? What status does modern literary creation have? What are the similarities and differences between Arab literary creations and their Western counterparts written in this trend?
