Abstract

The fast  pace of the Technology Revolution has turned both, the last  and the current centuries, into the centuries of "Communication and Technology".

Technology is becoming the single language of communication among different nations. It is being used in the political, social, economic and educational fields.   Technology is becoming part of people’s lives and Governments are investing heavily in the progress and development of this field.

This Information Technology has established Communication Networks which have spread across the world, allowing people from all over the globe to communicate with each other.  The level of this communication is now used as a tool to measure the civilization and technology of a certain country.  It is clear that undeveloped countries are lagging behind in their advancement of technology due to their lack of funds.

The expression "digital divide" is used to describe people who have the ways and means to use the internet and those who do not. It is becoming another way of grouping people into a class structure.

In this study, the first undertaken in this area, I will define the meaning of the digital divide by interpreting the results of a survey and then I will present my findings and finally I will discuss how these findings apply to both the Jewish and Arab sectors in Israel.
