Abstract
The purpose of this article is: To define the concept “Responsibility”. To present two contradicted approaches to this subject .To set up warning that in teachers training institutions and as a result, in schools, no one speaks about the meaning of “responsibility”, only preaching it.
The word “Responsibility” contains in it the word response – though to say that responsibility is measured by the outcome of the response in one hand and on the other hand a responsibility is positive response towards others.
One meaning of responsibility is concentrated at the human behavior- one with the liberty of choosing his direction, the ability of results forecasting and the ability to prevent the forecasted results.
Second meaning of responsibility is morally taking care of others.
This article will define and compare between the rational humanistic approaches that depend upon the ability to choose as well as taking responsibility of the consequence: like the responsibility embedded in the role we choose in life, and the emotional approach of caring about the other.
Afterwards this article will examine if responsibility exists in deterministic situation. It also will define the difference between personal responsibility and collective responsibility as part of our community with known moral values. In conclusion, the article will present demand for teaching responsibility in schools and teaching institutes in order to bring up the child to be an independent responsible adult.
