Abstract

This research will shed  light on the topics and subjects of the Oriental Muwashah in comparison with the topics and subjects dealt with in the traditional Arab poems.  It also aims at showing the way in which the content of the Oriental Muwashah was influenced by the contents of the Andalusi Muwashah.  Such influence has narrowed its circle and made it, due to its artistic structure, more like an Andalusi Muwashah and of a lesser degree to a traditional poem in dealing with thoughts and contents. Once in a while, however, one would certainly come across some of the artistic qualities of this Muwashah. The study will also try to show the reasons which made this kind of Muwashah become shorter and mimic the Arab poem in terms of subject and rhyme.
