Abstract
This study attempts to identify and measure the relationship between fulfilling marital
prior-expectations and post-marital satisfaction of couples by using descriptive and
analytical quantitative approach. The sample included 922 couples living in the towns,
villages and camps of Bethlehem and Hebron regions, to the south of the Southern West
Bank. The subjects were requested to fill in a well-designed questionnaire. The results
revealed that there is a significant relationship between the above mentioned variables
of the study. This indicates that whenever the husband’s or wife’s behavior agrees with
the partner’s expectations marital chemistry becomes possible, satisfactory and
adjustable.
