Abstract

Hadiths which are attributed to prophet Mohammad, Peace be upon him, are not all the same level. Some can be related to him, and such Hadiths are the true and good Hadiths, while others suffer from an unverified chain of narration; these Hadiths are the weak types, among which are the invented and fake ones. This in-depth study, which presented serially, aims at knowing those Hadiths according to scientific rules. This research is categorized under what is known as “ the science of Hadith terminology”. In my previous article No. 5, I have shown that the Hadith is of two types: a- acceptable which is true and good, which I have defined and given examples about before and b- the rejected, which is the weak type in all its varieties. I have introduced one type. Its weakness  is ascribed to some missing links in the chain of ascription. This type of the weak Hadith is called the “Mu’alaq”. In another previous  article No. 6, I have dealt with three other types of weak Hadith, due to weak chain of ascription, Al-Munqati’, Al-Mu’dil and Al-Mursal. God willing, in this article, I have dealt with two additional types of Hadtih under the category of  Al-Saqt Al-Khaffiyy: Al-Mudalas, Al-Mursal Al-Khaffiyy. The other types will be dealt with in the next issue.
