Abstract
This research examines pre-service teachers’ perceptions of and approaches to electronic forums which are part of online courses. We asked pre-service teachers from two fields of specialization, computer science and Mathematics on the one hand and early childhood on the other, to give their opinions about different kinds of electronic forums, their participation in these forums and what influenced the extent of this participation. The findings of the research imply that pre-service teachers perceive the electronic forums from different angles, and the xtent of their participation is influenced by different aspects of the forums, particularly the pre-service teachers’ conditions, their characteristics and need to participate in the forum
